Studies show that the spoken word is still the quickest way to communicate.  But at Eagle's Landing, we know that technology advancements allow alternatives to traditional dictation and transcription.  Templated (or "point and click") charting provides a very useful, often less expensive, alternative to usual methods.

PowerTouch, the EMR-based templated charting protocol in PowerSuite, is a proprietary EMR-lite application that provides point-and-click documentation for your providers.  For less intense, non-acute patient encounters, PowerTouch provides an excellent charting alternative that is quick and easy to use because it matches the way your physicians see patients.  They do not have to change their workflow to fit our software, so PowerTouch saves them time and protects the accuracy of their notes.   

Once the physicians approve the design, PowerTouch is programmed and set up for testing.  After a few days of learning the system, a final approval is given and physicians make the change from dictation to templated charting for approved worktypes.

As each note is completed, it feeds through the usual queue, where it joins other transcribed notes for upload back to the customer.   These notes are ready on the spot and can be printed instantly if desired. PowerTouch notes are generated at a fraction of the cost of transcription or editing because the MLS is not needed in the production of the document. Rather, the MLS's expertise is reserved for where it is needed the most; acute notes or those patient visits that fall outside the normal findings and are more quickly generated with physician dictation.
